Please reach us at  if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Mitigation is a topic that effects not only those who have been through the justice system, but all of us as part of a compassionate and inclusive society.  Think about the worst mistake you've ever made in your life. What if your character was judged solely based on that mistake? Does that act reflect your character? We are all human and we all make mistakes, therefore we all deserve a second chance.

When individuals face the consequences of their actions, we must remember that punishment alone is not the answer. It is about something much bigger - the belief is that people can change, grow and contribute positively to society given the opportunity.

Mental health is one of the underlying issues that we identify as a contributing factor to people's actions,. Therefore, when exploring mitigative factors mental health symptoms can be apart of the client's story.

Investigators are primarily fact finders. They focus on the details of the case such as the  Who, What, When and Where.

Mitigation Specialists focuses on the How and Why, which includes the client's personal life prior to the crime that occurred including childhood development, any possible traumas, mental health history, education level, their environment and interpersonal relationships. All of this information is gathered and assessed on how it is relevant to the case.
